Episode 2 saw Momo and Okarun fighting for their lives, then finding themselves needing to make their way back to Momo’s house to change. That super intense moment left audiences feeling surprised and worried! There is an initial struggle between the barrier magic on that location which only allows Okarun (who's currently possessed by a ghost) through once Momo removes those magical restrictions placed. After they manage to switch into their day-clothes, those brief peaceful moments after a harrowing confrontation created a wonderful moment!

But that peaceful moment breaks suddenly with an unexpected visit and intense fight – an alien seeking revenge attacks Okarun! It releases deadly poisonous gas – seriously upping the ante! They can't escape because this super powerful alien creates another magical barrier and leaves those watching on edge!

Okarun's super-powered Turbo Mode (activated when possessed by Turbo Granny) allows him to defeat that alien – but only briefly! Then Momo steps in. Using incredible cunning and smarts (and the earlier removed protective charm), she takes a seriously brutal beating but successfully outsmarts the alien – ending with the ultimate victory after the intense combat action! The end shows Momo collapsed; but Turbo Granny possesses Okarun. Leaving Momo entirely defenseless at the ending.

While less action-packed than the first, the fight scene was a thing of beauty! The black and white visual effects during this battle was superb, truly upping the intensity! Okarun's red-hued Turbo Mode was insanely well animated. The story does however maintain its heart; emphasizing its ability to balance action sequences, lore and unexpected friendship; an incredibly compelling choice and this heartfelt moment is incredibly refreshing.

The amazing relationship growth shown and especially that truly touching scene of Okarun sharing his loneliness with Momo, and her accepting him; highlighting just how much potential the writers were able to show, through seemingly simpler choices! Those kinds of meaningful exchanges truly highlight why Dan Da Dan shines through seemingly less complex narratives and ideas that really resonate. It shows that small decisions, carefully crafted can truly generate far deeper meaning than you expect!

Dan Da Dan Episode 3: What's Next for Momo and Okarun?

That ending leaves Momo vulnerable to Turbo Granny! That provides that perfect opportunity! There is another appearance; showing a character ready to help, the appearance of a powerful ghost suppressor, which has many fans highly anticipating just who will come. We see our main leads get closer together; the main pairing is further developed, Momo and Okarun.
