In chapter #14, Kawaki is shown chatting with Eida and Daemon. They discuss how Konoha's forces are questioning Boruto, and Kawaki's reaction was key! He didn't care. Even if Boruto revealed Kawaki's secrets. He didn't worry since he was sure everyone would believe Boruto is guilty.

Then things get very interesting, he seems quite stunned! Why? Boruto is still willing to protect Kawaki even after Kawaki had previously betrayed and even injured his former friend! It suggests a possible change in how he is viewing Boruto. It might be the start of a shift in his perspective.
