Kawaki, who used that crazy Omnipotence Shinjutsu to seal them in a pocket dimension. Our hero, with Sasuke at his side, has to face the newly powerful Code while desperately trying to save everyone; all the while battling prejudice that sees Boruto as nothing but a monster, completely flipping the perception around these events.

Chapter 14 was intense; showing that political thriller side of Boruto's world. It shows Boruto's interrogation – overseen by Konohamaru, the Two Elders, and Ebisu; it’s rather tense, showing just how much political nuance is possible and what some people would consider as betrayals; while Eida’s secretly watching and updating Kawaki. Boruto spills details on the Shinju and why some people get targeted— it's a very shocking and rather interesting reveal showing those powerful, larger plot threads!

Boruto then drops the fact that Naruto's alive! But Shikamaru's unusual trust is highlighted; showing those clever storytelling elements and use of power; this clever usage shows how the Omnipotence altered memories around Boruto; making Shikamaru unable to sense that distrust.

Things go really south for Boruto: a near beating and being placed into seemingly inescapable prison until this clever escape plan made by Shikamaru (secretly freed via Mitsuki) works incredibly well. Sadly, while Boruto escapes; it involves some bad news and hints toward the main plot: Gaara and Shinki fall during a Hidden Sand attack, this leads to Boruto escaping. Yet the later sections really demonstrate how incredibly important the Hidden Sand remains for the remainder of the arc; which introduces an entire plot thread showing those mystical entities’ presence in the Hidden Sand; emphasizing how deep and truly scary the emerging foe really is; that climactic reveal ends with an even bigger threat – the awakening of Ryu, another Shinju.

What's next? It’s crazy to predict! But that sneak peek hints at some serious developments!

Boruto/Kawaki Team-Up: A potential reconciliation and a major power shift that could make the combined capabilities of the protagonists extremely high! This development makes much of the arc very plausible.
Gaara/Shinki Flashback: This is important and really helps showcase how the current enemies came into existence.

And now the Hidden Sand—the arc suggests that those threats involving Shinju spreads, impacting everyone, potentially leading to an arc where this spreading foe could impact multiple nations; bringing those major character growth opportunities!

After fleeing with Sasuke, Boruto's return might include those surprising and really surprising twists showing the extent to which society has changed. And all this hinges on Boruto/Kawaki's reconciliation; and could totally flip their perspectives, showing yet again another plot twist and showing that everything the viewers witnessed prior isn’t quite what was previously implied! It sets everything up nicely, emphasizing a more widespread war against much more powerful foes than we previously might have seen!
