Spy x Family Hints Loid and Yor Are Falling for Each Other
Fans have been waiting for the real spark of attraction to take over the two leads for some time now. The signs of Loid and Yor's growing romantic feelings for one another have been around from the very beginning. More recently, however, the signs are becoming increasingly hard to ignore.
In chapter #80 of Spy X Family, Yor and Loid have an argument over gripes in their relationship. Yor wants to have gripes with Loid because she believes that's a sign of a meaningful marriage. On the other hand, Loid is nervous that Yor's gripes are real. He wants to do everything he can to find out what they are so that he can take the steps to resolve them.
Loid and Yor's Feelings for Eachother Will Only Grow in Spy x Family
Chapter #80 of Spy X Family is one of first times both Loid and Yor truly seem eager to "make up" before any bad feelings settle in – just like a normal couple. While the scene has a decidedly humorous tone, the romantic sentiment between the two is obvious as each struggles to find a way to show their interest in one another.
Both of the Forger parents fight the urge to completely give in to their emotions, but with Loid's mission far from over, and Yor's need to maintain a suitable cover for her own job, they'll continue to be put in situations where proximity and affection are required. As anyone who's ever been in love knows, the challenges of controlling one's feelings are real, especially when the object of desire is as close as Loid and Yor are in Spy x Family.
Why Spy x Family's Loid and Yor Still Aren't Together (Yet)
While Loid and Yor haven't acknowledged their romantic feelings for one another, they've continued to have moments that hint at them becoming more intimate. These moments include Yor getting excitedly flustered, even heated about sharing a room with Loid in chapter #94, continuously stoking reader hopes of the pair becoming a romantic entanglement. However, Spy x Family continues to leave Loid and Yor's relationship as ambiguous as it shows the risks and compromises made by others in the series in the name of love.
The most frequent recurring case is Fiona Frost, aka Midnight in Spy x Family, whose romantic feelings for Loid, aka Twilight, are so intense that after the Mole Hunt Arc even the Handler couldn't help but notice this in chapter #87. This romantic Spy x Family subplot must be resolved for Loid and Yor to get together, even if it means heartbreak for Fiona. However, one last romantic subplot in the series indicates what Loid and Yor risk losing should they fall for each other, that of Henry Henderson and Martha Marriott.
Love Is Complicated When Under Deep Cover
Henry and Martha's love story is featured in the arc that saw Spy x Family cross into chapter #100, and shows Henry's idealism crushed by Martha responding to the national call of duty. Loid and Yor are both duty-bound, the former as a spy, the latter as an assassin, and their mission could eventually lead to them being separated, like Henry and Martha.
If Loid and Yor are to get together in Spy x Family, they will likely have to endure a similar trial. In all likelihood, this could mean surviving intersecting missions between the Garden and WISE.
