Pokémon Horizons: Roy Achieves First Evolution Major Milestone.

Roy's First Evolution resembles Ash's really a lot.

Roy has been working on a report on local wild Pokémon in the episode, concentrating on a Capsakid. Though caught on a cliff edge close to a waterfall and unable to climb back, the Capakid managed to get in trouble. Roy descended to assist it, but the road back up fell behind him, therefore compromising his situation as well. Wattrel tried to assist, but the strong breezes sweeping the cascade kept pushing it back. Eventually it could transport Capsakid to safety, but Roy was left to climb now.

But Roy plunged into the lake below as a handhold snapped off. Driven just by pure will, Wattrel drove toward his rescue and developed into a Kilowattrel. Kilowattrel's new scale allowed it to grab Roy and fly with him, bringing him to safety. Roy delighted to watch his Pokémon grow, and the group honored Kilowattrel's new form in addition to his safety.

Roy reaches a significant milestone for any Pokémon Horizon trainer.

Roy from Pokémon Horizons has been performing remarkably lately; he won his battle with gym leader Brassius on the Terastal course even though it was not required to pass. Roy's run now continues with yet another significant first for every Pokémon trainer: their first transformation.

Roy currently owns two Pokémon: a Wattrel he caught really early in the series and Fuecoco, his starting Pokémon. Comparatively to Liko and Dot's other Pokémon, such Hatena and Tinkatink, Wattrel has sadly been out of focus most of the time and seems fairly rare. Roy first discovered Wattrel struggling to fly, but he helped it learn even before he caught it. Still, it would give up in trying circumstances and would suffer in heavy winds.

Pokémon Horizons Is Different From the Predecessor Series by Doing Something Ash Would Never Have Done Pikachu

As it happens, Ash had a Pokémon develop under quite identical conditions. Ash's Gligar changed when he collapsed while trying to climb a Team Rocket machine; his newly evolved Pokémon swooped in to save him. The circumstances also remind me of Ash's Fletchinder, which turned the circumstances around with Ash diving to save Talonflame from lava. Ash actually dropped from enormous heights with fair regularity, which fortunately hasn't been Roy's experience thus far.

A Pokémon's trainer can access their latent potential when they are in peril; this seems to be equally true in Horizon as it was in the original series. With Kilowattrel's expanded size and wingspan, it is a lot more powerful flier than before, enabling it to at last negotiate those strong gusts that used to cause problems. Roy had some time to get there, but at last he completed this significant milestone as a Pokémon trainer, so arming him to meet whatever obstacle is thrown at the Pokémon Horizons crew next.

Poké Horizon: what is it?

Following the 1997 original series comes Pokémon Horizons. It chronicles the exploits of Liko and Roy, two aspirant Pokémon trainers from disparate backgrounds, as they tour the Paldea area. Having fresh tools and devices, they come across a range of Pokémon and confront trials that try their bravery and ability. Liko and Roy learn about the huge world of Pokémon with every find and fight and aim to leave their mark in the Pokémon leagues.

Seeing how the new show will investigate this idea as Roy's trip unfolds is pretty intriguing. Viewers of the first season will definitely appreciate watching it veers in other ways.
