What if Kon from Bleach Had Been a Different Kind of Mod Soul?
You know Kon - that super strange, stuffed animal lion who acts all pervy - from the Bleach Anime and Bleach manga? Well, he almost became so much weirder, too!
Kon Almost Was a Very Different Mod Soul!
Get ready, because the Bleach creator, Tite Kubo, really came up with some wild ideas, before he got those cuddly toys - that actually look quite innocent! He had Kon living inside a human corpse at one point.
Would Kon Have Been Creepier in a Different Body?
- Imagine Kon living in some kinda dog, or even a cat, but totally dead, right? And you have to remember - Kon's known for doing all kinds of weird stuff and trying to be the ultimate flirt, but that's pretty gross when he's just a plush toy.
- This was Kon's actual fate before Kubo came up with the whole stuffed lion. It is really creepy! Imagine him living as some sort of Bleach character, taking on an entirely different form!
Would Kon Have Fit in with Bleach if He'd Been Different?
- Ichigo Kurosaki, the Soul Reaper and our fave character - he has this big role in Bleach where he switches places with Kon. What if he had to do that, but the whole thing was a whole lot creepier with a decaying body?
- It's easy to see why Kon as a stuffed toy - even when it is kind of creepy when he’s being pervy, especially how Kubo was going to use him to have that sort of comic relief, and he wasn’t super scary!
Kon's Transformation Into a Plush Toy Was A Big Deal
- We still have all those Hollows to fear, and all those villains from Bleach!
- It might be really wild! In the beginning of the Bleach series - Kon was more a side-character and Kubo took Kon out of the action - just because it was becoming more serious and was time for Ichigo to focus on becoming a Soul Reaper - his true calling! It wouldn't make much sense to be focused on a gross and disgusting creature!
Luckily, we've got the whole Bleach franchise, and even a bunch of Bleach characters - like Rukia Kuchiki and Ichigo - that we all love! The great thing is it still includes Kon but thankfully Kubo decided to make him that plush toy - which is so awesome to imagine - and we even have that iconic Kon Bleach scene. I guess, now, it’s up to the fans to imagine what might have happened with a more scary Kon!
