For history buffs, the Heroes of Color from World War Two must-see.

The Heroes of Color video for Erased: WW2 underlined how historical dramatization is a required component to grasp the impact of World War II, especially considering the little archival film that survives in some situations. Sometimes it is difficult to identify the actual stories of the many men and women of color who made tremendous contributions and sacrifices to the war because of the implicit bias and current hierarchy.

From Pearl Harbor and D-Day to Dunkirk and the Battle of the Bulge, Elba leads viewers through a significant World War II conflict in every episode and introduces the audience to some of the great heroes. The "Pearl Harbor" episode will also cover the tales of fellow meal attendants Doris Miller and George Bland, even while the section above centers on Clark Simmons. Produced by October Films and Idris Elba's firm 22 Summers, Erased: WW2's Heroes of Colour pays homage to his own grandfather's involvement in the war.

With its forthcoming docuseries Erased: WW2's Heroes of Colour, National Geographic is prepared to honour the Allied soldiers of colour in World War 2, who are sometimes unfairly kept out of the historical discourse. Beginning with "Pearl Harbor" and "D-Day," the four-part project opens June 3 on NatGeo before streaming on Disney + and Hulu the next day. "Dunkirk" and "Battle of the Bulge" follow-up on June 10. Celebrated actor Idris Elba (Sonic the Hedgehog 2) tells and acts as executive producer, modernizing the old story.

Presenting an exclusive preview from Erased: WW2's Heroes of Colour, Screen Rant is pleased to provide a closer view of the events of Pearl Harbour seen through the eyes of one of the Black soldiers present. Unlike World War 2 films in their varied degrees of realism, the new National Geographic documentary series pulls together a reenactment adding back the persons of color, such Clark Simmons featured in the video below, who have been "erased" by past historical records.
