Momo and Ken are polar opposites and their differing personalities, yet compatibility creates that magic that made their interactions really memorable from the get-go. Momo’s a super popular “gyaru”– all about fashion and pop culture. The opening scene itself is memorable: She gets dumped, but this is okay. Her immediate next goal is hunting her celebrity crush—Ken Takakura (the movie star). Ken is shy, reserved and gets bullied– he’s obsessed with aliens and conspiracy theories. The two occupy very different worlds!

Yet their contrasting backgrounds produce explosive chemistry and this very clear chemistry produces excellent comedic timing that many fans absolutely loved, further emphasized through various key moments throughout that very first episode alone and this unexpected spark becomes a compelling thread, that perfectly sets up much of that expected action later. And there’s foreshadowing; with Momo saving Ken. It's rare, it is even unique– yet that totally brilliant opening scene leaves audiences stunned.

The show really builds up anticipation over time and creates a gradual connection to show character progression– yet Dan Da Dan eschews those standard tropes and starts things almost immediately; establishing that essential chemistry rapidly. They’re constantly teasing; being real with each other instantly. That rapid intimacy completely cuts any existing distance. Momo reveals her childhood. Ken reveals he craves a friend.

And it is extremely noticeable; both in terms of audience response and the actual storyline presented – the moments are both deeply memorable and emotional; conveying both happiness and emotional depth and it highlights the importance surrounding both characters in equal terms! That incredibly powerful conclusion where Ken reveals his real name is Ken Takakura? It totally blows Momo away; nearly cementing their future; completely shocking those audience members and setting the stage for more fun to come!

The incredible visuals coupled with this amazing unique storyline and this incredibly compelling relationship; the development of that main couple being entirely unforced, yet satisfying, shows this entire creative staff understood the potential that this shonen title presented and how this title is something new in a rapidly expanding universe of anime! Those unconventional choices regarding character interaction made Momo and Okarun's rapid bonding both unique and captivating. The intense energy in those initial interactions makes that storyline entirely compelling– and generates enormous excitement for upcoming episodes; setting up a brilliant start for a highly enjoyable relationship storyline, coupled with other action.
