Sure, they are awesome and there is plenty of awesome animation for those intense fight scenes, but the series creator, Hajime Isayama wanted to show us so much more about war than just those iconic scenes, but really wanted to show the darker side of all those big battles.

In most stories, people usually make the victories of war look incredible and heroic! That's not always how real events turn out and this anime series takes a big departure! Attack On Titan has become very popular and for all the right reasons! It's truly not like other Anime, as it tries to reflect back the real-world tragedy and its negative impact on a massive scale. When I saw the very first episode of this anime, I was blown away! It didn't shy away from some very disturbing scenes of violence and destruction.

The Very First Episode

What happens in this story, and the walls that people built to protect themselves. You see, the wall gets destroyed by an amazing creature known as "Titans".

They had built walls to survive but, of course, these huge creatures make their way inside. The series throws us right into the heart of this action with the character, Eren Yeager, who tries to help!
The destruction left behind had some real world events reflected in it and that included the shocking moment where Eren's mom was caught in a horrible situation! This happened with a ton of chaos going on in a very bloody scene! Eren's mom is in pain, as he watched his mom be attacked, it was truly horrific.
